First of all, I want to mention that cleaning the crystals is optional. There are those who consider or feel that the crystals are so pure that they do not require cleaning. However, there are also those who consider that they should be cleaned. So, next, I will explain the different ways to clean your crystals so that you can choose the one that you like the most or the one that is easiest for you to put into practice. I also want to clarify that at all times we are talking about an energetic cleansing of the mineral, not a physical one.
Water with salt
This system consists of diluting a little salt in water and leaving the crystals to soak for a while.
Cons of this system: There are minerals that cannot be submerged in water, as they could melt, such as selenite, and there are others that do not do well with salt diluted in water, such as pink opal, as may crack as it dries. If you use this system, you will have to make sure that it is suitable for all your crystals. I recommend you check it in different sources of information, since sometimes you can find conflicting information about how to clean a mineral.
Coarse or Himalayan salt (no water)
The good thing about this system is that it is very simple. Place a little coarse or Himalayan salt on a plate or bowl and place the crystals on top for a while. There is no set time, it can be hours or even a night.
Cons of this system : There are minerals that cannot be in contact with the salt, therefore, you will have to find out, mineral by mineral, if you can clean them with this system. Also, I recommend you reserve the salt that you use for this purpose only for this. You can use it again repeatedly, but I do not recommend using it to eat.
White Quartz Geode.
This system is one of my favorites and I think I have already shown it to you on our social networks. It is an easy and practical system but at the same time beautiful. Crystal quartz has the property not only to clean but also to charge the energy of the space in which it is located, but also of the minerals or your jewelry with crystals, if these are placed inside. Sound.
Crystals can also be cleansed by sound, for example from quartz bowls. I have had the opportunity to see some and they are really incredible. However, to be honest I can't tell you much more about this system since I've never tried it. If I find out more or want to learn about it, I will expand the information!
The four elements: water, fire, earth and air.
Water:
You can clean your minerals simply with water, placing your minerals in a bowl for a few hours or letting the tap water run, although if it is river, sea or even rainwater, the better. So now you know, the next day you see that it rains, place a bowl or a plate next to your minerals or simply collect the water you want and use it later to clean them.
Not all minerals can be cleaned with water, so try to find out beforehand if your crystals are suitable for cleaning in this way or not.
Air:
This system is also very easy and if you feel it useful and for you, do not hesitate to put it into practice. Gently blow on the crystal while imagining how that blow takes away with it any trace of negative or heavy energy that your mineral may be containing, leaving it totally clean and ready to receive new energy.
Land:
Place your minerals in contact with the ground or next to a tree. If this is not possible for you, you can place them in a pot. In fact, there are some minerals that can help the growth of your plants. You can leave them overnight, for example, or just a few hours. If you go to the beach or the mountains, take advantage and clean them in incredible places.
Keep in mind this system is not valid for all minerals. Find out before putting them in contact with the earth.
Fire :
I save my favorite for last. You can use incense, palo santo , the flame of a candle... Without a doubt, my favorite is palo santo.
How can you clean them with palo santo? It is very simple. Light your palo santo until it has lit well and has a flame. Leave the flame burning for a few seconds and then extinguish it by shaking the palo santo. Once the palo santo begins to smoke, pass that smoke around your crystals for a few minutes or as long as you consider. As you do this, hold in your mind the intention that any trace of negativity be removed from your crystal and that it be completely cleansed.
Finally, it should be noted that there are minerals that never need to be energetically cleansed, such as shungite or others, such as carnelian , which cleans the rest of the minerals. If you have a carnelian, place it in a bag with your minerals and the carnelian itself will take care of cleaning the rest of the minerals.
If you want something practical, you need to see this. It is a shungite altar where you can not only place your crystals so that the shungite itself cleanses and recharges them, but also helps you repel electromagnetic waves. How about? Better impossible!
